Our Annual Golf Tournament was a fun-filled day at Davis Park Golf Course with raffle prizes, a tasty barbecue, and some great golfing. This annual fundraising event supports our worthy cause--our CCIFP scholarship awards (see Latest Chapter News for this year's scholarship recipients).

Many thanks goes to our Sponsors, volunteers and golfers for a successful tournament; we would not be able to host this annual event without your participation! We look forward to seeing you at next year's tournament and appreciate your support.

Thank you to our Sponsors:

2018 Annual Banquet and 30th Anniversary Celebration

The Utah CFMA's Annual Social Dinner & 30th Anniversary held on the top deck at Market Street Grill in Cottonwood on November 16th was a resounding success! This was a wonderful event that was enjoyed by all, with twinkling holiday lights and heartwarming ambiance.

Our chapter received an award from National CFMA at the banquet and we were congratulated on our 30th anniversary. One of the Chapter's founding members said a few words about the goals and vision they had when the Chapter started and how pleased he was we were still going strong and including scholarship awards annually in the Chapter. We were happy to announce our two scholarships that were awarded at the event, one a CCIFP candidate award and the other a presentation check from Chapter President Jyll Waters to the Weber State Construction Management program.

The food, which included filet mignon and cedar plank salmon, was delicious and the after-dinner entertainment was fascinating and fun, performed with gusto by Lefty the Magician. The audience was involved and engaged in the magic, which included some fiery and spectacular elements. Overall, everyone enjoyed each other's company, the awards, food, and entertainment. A good time was had by all and we can't wait for you to join us at our next year's event!

May 3rd "CFMA at the Bees Game"

May 3rd "CFMA at the Bees Game" with Pre-game Presentation, Quality Control: Focusing on the Point of Impact

Scott Staff, Director of Risk Management at CSDZ, lead some good discussion, situated comfortably in a Bee's box suite, on how contractors in today’s environment use quality control to preserve profitability. After the very informative presentation, the group enjoyed the fun and exciting Salt Lake Bees versus Fresno Grizzlies game even though the Bees lost 5 - 7. Despite the crowd's vocal support, Fresno’s big three-run sixth inning was the difference as the Grizzlies defeated the Bees in the first game of a doubleheader.

Snowbird Hardhat Tour: Top of the Tram Facility

Members of Utah CFMA toured the construction of a lodge at Snowbird ski resort in September, 2015. The Summit facility, built at the top of the tram, is a 23 thousand square foot structure offering indoor and outdoor dining options. The vision of a mountain top oasis has finally come true; they're calling it their crown jewel of an extensive 35 million dollar capital investment project.
